Money Clip Love

I love working with sterling silver and my guy loves money clips, so it was only a matter of time before my interest turned to making money clips. Money clips are wonderful alternative to the bulky wallet - just slip in your money, an ID, and your credit card de jour. I think that they are kinda sexy, too.

I've been using different texturing hammers for designs, and recently completed my first clip with a cabochon setting. It has a really cool vintage glass tile that I found a few years ago, and looks quite elegant and just a bit nostalgic.

Here are a two of my new money clips.

Graduation and wedding season, and Father's Day season are fast approaching. Consider a money clip for a distinctive gift.

Goodies From the Mailman

It's been almost better than Christmas here for the past week.  I've gotten new tools and new metals and new stones - lots of new things to play with!  My bench is piled high with silver, bronze, stainless steel, and anodized aluminum; rivets and texturing hammers and hole punchers; jaspers and saginite and the cutest little lampwork glass animal beads.  The new designs that I've been dreaming about can now become real.

Tonight I played with bronze and a fabulous new texturing hammer to create this chunky cuff.  The bronze is heavy - 16 gauge.  (For those of you who don't speak metal gauge, that's a little bit thicker than a quarter).

I'd love to stay up and play all night, but I have to play responsible adult and go to bed now.  *le sigh*
